Boombarbers
Arguably one of the first barber shops in Edinburgh to propel the city’s men’s grooming scene into the 21st century, Boombarbers is something of an institution. Created in 1999, the brand has now expanded to six different outlets across the city, meaning you are never too far from a stylish new do or a much needed beard trim, plus and multiple shops means definitely getting an appointment! The original shop in the West End is still super popular and offer everything from quality re-styles to hair washes and their renowned wet towel shaves. The brand have cultivated a loyal following and are known for meeting their customer’s needs whilst always being at the forefront of the hair cutting game. Benjamin’s Barber Shop
Benjamin Patchett started cutting hair at 16 in his parent’s garage before embarking on a career in men’s grooming. After working for a number of different other salons he finally set up his own barber shop in 2013. Benjamin’s Barber Shop was a quick success and he now has a huge following of loyal (and stylish) locals. Fans of the barber shop appreciate Benjamin and his team’s focus on keeping it old school, in style and ethos. They offer relaxed and friendly customer service and specialise in short, classic and traditional cuts although never shy away from something a bit more avant garde. The shop also offers a fine selection of hair products and beard oils too to keep you looking sharp until your next visit. Benjamin grew up skating and the influence is obvious when you step into the shop – various branded boards act as art, adorning the walls. With their welcoming attitude and focus on traditional cuts, Benjamin’s offers something a bit different (and refreshing) to the other high end barbers in the city. Also be sure to say hi to Benjamin’s french bulldog Ozzy if you pop in!
