A new ‘Meats & Beats’ festival, themed around meatylicious street food and music from the past five decades, comes to Edinburgh next weekend! From the 20th-22nd of October, Edinburgh’s Assembly Roxy will be transformed into a ‘carnivores’ paradise’ where guests will be able to sample a whole host of incredible street food whilst getting down and groovy to the best tunes from the past five decades.
From sizzling steaks, to stacks of sticky ribs, from melt in the mouth mac ‘n’ cheese, to juicy Quesadillas, it promises to be a meat-lovers heaven! Street vendors in attendance include The Pitt, Rib-AYE Steakhouse, The Mac Shack, Bruadair and Wild & Smoky, PLUS pop-up bars from Stewart Brewing, Fyne Ales, The Cocktail Kitchen, Poco Prosecco, Kitsch Soda and Villeneuve Wines will be serving craft beers, cocktails, wines, and all natural sodas to top it all off!
The festival promises to be as much about the music as the food, so don’t forget your dancing shoes along with your appetite! Every hour the bell rings and the musical decade changes, as Disc Jockeys and a live band take festival-goers on a journey through the pop classics of the 70s, the 80s Disco anthems, dance tunes of the 90s and pop band hits of the noughties, right up to 2017. You can even request your favourite party tune before or during the event!
