Espresso Yourself This Summer At Rabble’s CÎROC Garden Bar

This summer the Garden Bar at Rabble has been transformed into the CÎROC Garden Bar, dedicated to the classic Espresso Martini. The pop-up will be running for three months and offers a bespoke coffee inspired cocktail menu which has been created by the award-winning Rabble bartenders.

Hosting the largest Espresso Martini in the capital, Café Cîroc at Rabble invites guests to skip dessert and enjoy a cocktail or two instead. Alongside a few of the classics sit some more innovative caffeine concoctions, such as the Turkish Espresso Noir or the must have Cococcino.

Rabble has a passion for pairings and through the pop-up there will be the perfect blend of events centred around the coffee experience. Master cocktail classes, chocolate workshops and a monthly palm and tarot reader ensure that a good time is had by all.

Our Review

CÎROC Garden Bar

If you haven’t been to Rabble before it is located on Frederick Street (The Old Ricks Bar). Head down the stairs and you will find the main bar/restaurant area, walk through to the back of the space to find the hidden garden area, which connects the bar with their hotel bedrooms.

The garden area features booths and seats and a small central bar area to sip a cocktail or two.

We visited on a Sunday and there was a great buzz to the main bar area, as there was live music playing (DJs on a Saturday and live chill out music on a Sunday), which I was told was on for their Boozy Brunch, which is another great reason to visit Rabble (More Details Here).

We settled into a booth and started exploring the new cocktail menu which features all Ciroc based drinks, with a focus on espresso based cocktails

You will spot in the menu their ‘Wakey Wakey Big Shakey’ cocktail which comes in a huge cocktail glass and is big enough for four people to drink! We decided to start off with just a classic Espresso Martini, and what a great way to get the Sunday afternoon going!

Later in the afternoon we took some recommendations on their other cocktails and opted for the Maple Berry Martini which was delicious; sweet and slightly heavy in texture.

Dine Out Menu

As mentioned they have a Boozy Brunch option served over weekends and their Dine Out menu which runs from Sunday to Thursday so we timed it perfectly! The Dine Out menu includes two courses for the bargain price of £12.50.

There is a good range of options (see below) taken from the main menu, so they are good sized portions.

Starters

We opted for the Salt and Petter Squid and the Crispy Halloumi Salad. The Squid dish comes on a bed of rice noodles which have been lightly seasoned and garnished with red chills to give it a bit of kick but not set your mouth on fire with spice. There is some fried lotus flower included in the dish and a good helping of crispy squid.

The other dish we chose was the fried halloumi, a good helping of ‘squeeky cheese’ has been battered in breadcrumbs and sits on a bed of salad, with some quinoa blended through it and I like the watermelon balls at first I thought they were cherry tomatoes until I bit into one.

Both starters were really delicious!

Mains

For mains we chose the Beer Battered Scottish Haddock, you can’t beat fish and chips! This is a great piece of freshly battered Haddock served with loads of french fries and freshly (home made tartare sauce. My dining parter opted for the 15 hour Cooked Half Rack of Port Ribs. Again really great sized portions, I can’t get over the fact is it £12.50 for two courses!

Desserts

The Dine Out menu doesn’t include desserts but you can easily add them on from the main menu.

We asked what the most popular dessert dishes on the menu are, and they both turned out to be what were were going to choose anyway! We opted for the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Tart which you can see in the image below. It’s a slab of chocolate with a layer of peanut butter and a chocolate base and to add to the calories a big ball of the most gorgeous vanilla ice cream!

And we also shared the Churros which are served with a pot of dipping fondue!

Final Thoughts

The CÎROC Garden Bar, runs from the 31st May until early September daily and offers the perfect excuse to enjoy a late night cocktail or two and the Dine Out menu runs Sunday To Thursday while the Boozy Brunch runs each Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 2pm. Definitely worth a visit!
