2020 has certainly brought some changes to the culinary scene – not least the increased availability of socially distanced pickups and quirky at-home options. Edinburgh is set to be the launch site for the UK’s first-ever drive-thru pizza establishment. And the team behind it is already one of the city’s favourite eateries.
The highly-rated foodie chain, @pizza, has launched an innovative Crowdfunder campaign, meaning fans can be part of the action. Investors earn lifetime rewards relative to the size of investment (beginning at £10), including 25% off pizzas for life, an annual birthday treat and the opportunity to design and name one of the pizzas on the menu.

@pizza has ranked as the best pizza in the capital on TripAdvisor for over two years. A combination of high-quality ingredients, trendy surroundings, enormous choice and the ability to cook an order in just 90 seconds, has ensured it’s a firm favourite among visitors and locals. While the UK pizza restaurant industry can at times risk predictability, @pizza has consistently determined to challenge that status quo. And with this ethos at the fore, it’s set to branch out with two exciting new permanent locations as well as a drive-thru in Edinburgh, coming over the course of this year and next.
Look out for @pizza’s new sites on the Royal Mile in December 2020 and in the St James Quarter in 2021, bringing delicious, hand-crafted pizzas to a neighbourhood near you. Additionally, a semi-permanent drive-thru pizza unit will turn out freshly made, bespoke pizzas in under 3 minutes. Diners will be able to get a fantastic feed made in front of their eyes, in just a few minutes. All the while maintaining their distance.
These sites will join the established restaurant on Charlotte Lane in the West End, where there’s already of choice of a whopping 64,000 possible combinations of pizza.
