Edinburgh has a brand new festive offering this year in the shape of THOR’S Tipi Bar – a Christmas pop-up bar with a difference which is officially now open.
Located on Waverley Mall’s rooftop event space, THOR’S tipi bar – playing on a Viking heritage – will be a novel experience for Christmas shoppers, weary workers, visitors and families alike.
Waverley Mall, situated on Princes Street is the perfect location for visitors, tourists and locals alike with excellent travel links in and out of the city. The festive pop up bar on Waverley Mall’s rooftop is set to become a real destination over the Christmas period, in the heart of the city.
Two canvas tipis will form the bar, festooned with lighting and decked out with wooden tables and benches, cosy furs and a real fire pit, around which customers can soak up the Viking hygge.

A unique drinks menu truly offers something for everyone. Hot and cold cocktails with a Christmas twist, beers from around the world and local ales and stouts are just a few of the items on the menu. An extensive wine list, soft drinks and a non-alcoholic selection can also be discovered whilst festive favourites such as mulled wine and hot chocolate will ensure there is something to warm everyone’s cockles. Teas and coffees are also available to revive busy shoppers.

THOR’S tipi bar is a plastic-friendly bar and uses poly-carbonate reuseable plastics.
