Join Cannonball Restaurant and Mercat Tours for an evening of exciting Scottish storytelling exploring the county’s interesting history and heritage with their special ‘Storytelling Evenings’. The evening will combine stories, food and music for a captivating event that indulges the best of Scottish traditions.
Enjoy Castle views from the stunning Cannonball dining room where you will be greeted with a big warm Scottish welcome before the evening really warms up. Enjoy a hearty meal of traditional national dishes using the finest and freshest ingredients from the incredible Scottish natural larder. Enjoy culinary delights such as Edinburgh Haggis, Scotch Beef, seasonal vegetables and creamy traditional Cranachan whilst relaxing and enjoying the tales of Scotland.
During and after dinner, listen to tales of the icons that symbolize the country and how they have become such an important part of Scottish character and culture. From Saint Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, to the national flower, the prickly purple thistle, learn more about key features of Scottish heritage by an expert host, who will be of course, kitted out in the national dress.
In true Scottish style, the evening will be rounded off with a dram of the national drink. Raise your glass of whisky in a true Scottish toast that you can impress your friends with later. If you aren’t already, by the end of the evening you will feel like a true local.
