The Stockbridge Market has released new dates for when they are reopening with strict new social distancing measures in place.
The first date is today, Saturday the 5th of July, then the 12th and 19th of July.
They have confirmed the following about the format of the market –
“Opening hours of the market will be 10am to 4pm. All traders will be at least 2 metres distant from each other. We will have no hot food (although your favourite traders will be there but will be selling their food pre packed cold for you to reheat at home). We will have no craft stalls to begin with as there can be no touching of goods but they are all keen to get back as soon as its safe to do so. It will be very much a shopping for food market with bread, meat, fish, veg, fruit , cheese, charcuterie, home bakes, teas, olives, salads, jams, ready meals and more treats.
For now there will be no coffees or teas and no tables and chairs to sit and chat.
We will have one entrance to the markets and one exit with a marked route round the market. We will have marked spots for each stall to have 2 or 3 people queuing and we will have staff at the entrance and exit to explain the procedure., and if necessary limit the number of customers in the market at at any one time
There will be hand sanitiser at the entrance and on each stall. Our staff will wear masks. We will be urging the public to help us by maintaining distance from each other. Of course we have the advantage of being outdoors and you bring your own shopping bags.”
