After a decade of operating in the heart of Edinburgh, the independent, fine dining restaurant Timberyard has been awarded its first Michelin Star. The Radford family, Ben, Jo, Abi, Andrew, and Lisa, own and operate the restaurant and are all actively involved in its daily operations.
The restaurant is known for its ingredient-led cooking that is created with respect to nature and sourced from local, artisan suppliers, and Scotland’s natural larder. The Head Chef is James (Jimmy) Murray, and he is supported by Head Pastry Chef, Richard Phillips. Jo Radford leads the front-of-house staff, which includes Manager, Pete Johnson and Drinks & Bar Manager, Anna Sebelova.
The Michelin Star award is a huge honour for the Timberyard team and recognises their hard work and dedication.
Ben Radford commented on the award, “Timberyard has always aimed to be at the forefront of both Scottish and British dining. The Michelin Star gives Jimmy and our team the recognition they deserve. The award also helps to firmly establish Timberyard’s place at the highest level of the country’s fine dining scene. To be included amongst great Edinburgh and national restaurants such as Martin Wishart’s and Lyles in London is a huge honour.”
